What is the Program?
There are three types of programs available. Teens, ages 13-17, will take part in either Teen Counseling, Family Discussion, or Teen Plus Family Counseling. All teens are eligible for one of our programs, whether or not they are experimenting with alcohol
Teen Counseling
This program includes one interview session to evaluate your teenager’s substance use and health, provides information about local programs for additional help, and concludes with three follow-up interviews over the next year. During the session, the counselor and teen discuss how the teen feels about substance use. The teen then generates his or her own behavior change plan, with the counselor’s help.
Family Discussion
This program includes one session with teen and parents to discuss common conflict areas for families, including teen substance use.
Teen Plus Family Counseling
This program is similar to the programs described above but also includes one session with the parent(s). This session includes family discussions to help your teen avoid future problems with substances.
